Street Surge helps cities do public transport optimization using Big Data & AI planning models. We use aggregated GPS traces to generate high-resolution travel demand models & our AI Route Planning Solver designs public transport routes & schedules for enhanced efficiency and ridership. Our products: 1. Big Data for Mobility: Effective urban transport planning requires accurate and timely mobility data. Traditional transport surveys are costly, slow, and biased—covering less than 1% of urban populations with imperfect sampling. In contrast, GPS-based smartphone mobility data, offers a more accurate and scalable solution, enabling precise tracking of human movement across spatial and temporal scales. We built Machine Learning models to analyze the raw mobility datasets and combined with contextual data like the demographics, building, roadway & transit networks; generated travel demand models in the form of OD matrices which eliminate risks of bias, sampling errors, cost & time. 2. AI Route Planning Model: Route planning is an NP-hard problem with billions of permutations & can take years for fastest computers to solve. Our AI-powered planning model solves complex multi-objective optimization problems, designing near-optimal, demand-driven transport routes & networks that maximize ridership while adhering to operational constraints.
