Brief description of the product/ process/ service

A self-expandable metallic stent is a metallic tube, or stent that used to hold open blocked or narrow passages in the body. There are two types of SEMS one is cardiac stent and second is non- cardiac stent. Further it is classified as coated and non-coated stents. Cardiac stents - They are often used to treat narrowed/ blocked coronary arteries that provide the heart with oxygen-rich blood. Stents are also sometimes used to treat an aneurysm, which is a bulge in the wall of an artery. Non-cardiac stents - They are often used to treat narrowed/blocked structure in the gastrointestinal tract to allow the passage of food, chyme, stool, or other secretions related to digestion. Further they are also used to treat narrowed/ blocked structure in airway lungs.
