8rney is an AI-native legal practice platform — an “AI associate” that unifies legal research, document drafting, contract review, and matter management into a single, governed workspace. It connects live legal databases (Indian Kanoon, India Code, and CanLII for Canadian law) with a firm's own private documents and frontier AI models (Claude/Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Claude on Amazon Bedrock) so that every answer is grounded in a real, citable source rather than generated from memory. The product spans a web application, a Microsoft Word add-in, a mobile app, and a desktop “co-working” application, all backed by a shared multi-tenant platform. Core capabilities include multi-jurisdiction legal research with anti-hallucination citation guardrails, an AI drafting and redlining editor, an agentic “governed assignment” workflow (the AI plans a task, a human approves the plan, the AI executes and produces a reviewable, versioned deliverable), review tables for structured contract/document extraction, and Practice Intelligence Playbooks that benchmark documents against a firm's own standards across six practice areas.
